Orange

(FBC Brookhaven group)

Have you missed me?
I was gone all week to be a team leader for Mississippi Super Summer.  This is an extraordinary camp where there are requirements to attend.  The goal is to get "the core" from youth groups from across the state and disciple them in their walk with Christ.  This camp is specifically for leaders.  It is really complicated how every group is broken up but I was a team leader for Orange School.  I was able to dig deeper in the Word with six other girls going into the tenth grade.  This was a great opportunity for me.  God is preparing me for things in my future and I can't wait to see the plans He has for me.

Polyvore

90's inspired fashion

What do you think?  I made this on a website called Polyvore.  You can start creating your dream outfits too.  Polyvore is a place where you can create virtual outfits online.  It also gives the you the link where you can purchase each piece of the outfit.  You also can follow other people's boards.  It is kinda like a Pinterest devoted to clothes.  Follow my boards

On a completely different note, how cute is she? She will turn me into the cat lady.

Worth it.

Sausage Cream Cheese Crescents

Sausage Cream Cheese Crescents

I'm doing a lot of cooking lately.  I don't know if you have noticed.  It could be because I'm super hungry or that I am a loner these days.  Mostly because I am a loner.  Therefore, I bake with my granny.  And I'm okay with that.

Ingredients:
2 cans of the big crescents rolls
1 lb. of sausage
1 package of cream cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Brown the sausage and drain.  Add the cream cheese to the drained sausage.  Unroll the crescents and place 1-2 Tbl. of the sausage mixture in the middle.  Roll from the widest side to the tip.  Or you can be like me and kinda just wrap it like a mummy or something.  Bake for 12 minutes.

Enjoy!

Sweet Treat

Stacked White Reese's Brownie Cookie

I'm sure you have seen these little beauties on Pinterest.  Pinterest is good like that.  Giving all sorts of ways to become diabetic.  No offense diabetics.  Anyway, this is my take on the little cups of heart attack.

Ingredients:
Break Apart Refrigerator Chocolate Chip Cookies
Mini Reese's Cup (I used my personal favorite, White Chocolate Reese's)
Brownie Mix

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.  Break apart the cookie dough and place in the bottom of a muffin pan.  Place a Reese's upside down on the cookie dough.  Mix the brownie mix according to the directions on the box.  Pour batter 3/4 full in each hole.  Bake for 18 minutes.  Let them cool if you want them to come out in one piece.  They were super rich.  Best served with a cold glass of milk.  You can regret eating these tomorrow.  I wander how many variations could be made of this.  White Chocolate Macadamia Nut cookies maybe.  Be as creative as you want and enjoy!

'Merica

This time last year I was in Australia.  Man, did I miss America.  Two weeks ago, I had just arrived from Malawi.  I was already missing America.  I believe that there is alot of suffering and issues here but we (for the most part) have life good.  When I think about how we are so blessed, I am amazed that I call this place home.  America.  Land of the free.  Home of the brave.  My home.  I have pride for this place.  Be glad you have the freedom to diss our leaders.  But maybe next time you will pray for them instead.  We have a choice.  Dog out 'merica or change it.  I say we change it.  We have that freedom.  God bless America.

Greek Pasta Salad

My Sunday School class is having a lunch party thing for an engaged couple in our class. They asked everyone to bring a side dish. I decided to make a pasta salad.  I pretty much made up my own recipe.  So here I introduce you to:

Greek Pasta Salad

(love me that Wal-mart brand)

Ingredients:
Grape Tomatoes (halved or quartered)
Black Pitted Olives (halved or quartered)
Feta Cheese, crumbled
Garden Rotini
Oil-based Dressing
Salt and pepper to taste

(sorry for the absolute worst photo quality)

For this salad, boil the rotini until tender.  Then drain the pasta and run cold water through the strainer.  This helps keep the pasta from sticking together. Add salt, pepper, and oil dressing to taste.  I used a sandwich dressing from the deli at our Wal-mart.  Toss in the tomatoes and olives.  It depends on your taste preferences whether you want them halved, quartered, or whole.  I enjoyed mine quartered.  Next add the crumbled feta.  After mixing the salad all together, I added more salt and dressing to taste.  The recipe is really dependent on your preferences.  Keep refridgerated for atleast a couple of hours so that the flavors can mix.  Preferably overnight.  Enjoy!
