The Pressures of Acrylic Painting
So, I am in an acrylic painting class. That's right. Your run of the mill art class. WRONG! Did I mention I have an INSANE painting professer? Well, I do! Let me start by saying that while I am working on a piece of work, I do not under any circumstances what someone to point out what I need to do while I am still working on it. Did you catch that? Still WORKING on it. I hate it when someone (said instructor) tells me to add more green on my squash when I am painting the corn and haven't even started on the squash yet! If that isn't bad enough, I really really hate it when someone (said instructor) decides that even though I'm not finished they can take my brush and start painting it themselves. I was so upset the last time I went to acrylic painting that I skipped the next class. I want to paint my own picture in my own style with my own hand. That's enough of my rant. Till next time.

Swannanoa Days
Here I am in front of my computer once again tucked away in my bed with a calming night ahead of me. Well, that certainly wasn't the case last week. Let me rewind. I transferred to Mississippi College this fall and have been loving every minute of it. When it came time to rush and pick my tribe (because like any other self respecting christian college, Mississippi College doesn't have sororities and fraternities but instead tribes and social clubs), I choose to rush Swannanoa. Every part of the rush process has been encouraging and entertaining and dare I say draining. We have been required to attend meetings and practices from 9:00 - 12:00 p.m. every night. I must confess that I have been excited about gathering with my future sisters every night but I still missed my dear friend, sleep. Last night however, I reached the status I had been seeking most during this rush process. Swannanoa Active! Now I finally have time for my dear friend sleep and I am officially sisters with some awesome girls. I already have my big sis, who is wonderful, and my twin and of course the rush of my amazing family. I truly am blessed to be apart of this. So, I know this wasn't a very artistic blog of me but it was on my heart and I had to share. Hopefully I will blog more often (fingers crossed). Also, if you are reading this and you are in the Clinton area, eat at Newk's October 25 for money to go to the Art Education Association. Please and thank you.
