Hairy Situations

My roomie did my hair today.  If you know anything about me, you would know that I kinda have a love/hate relationship with my hair.  Mostly hate.  I have never been able to hold a curl and my hair never stays straight.  My hair basically does its own thing.  Today, my roomie "scrunched" my hair.  I have tried to achieve this look on many occasions but I have never succeeded.  Her results were so much better.

I later added this peacock clip that I got in New Orleans.  I think she did a good job.  A+

Yes, that is our dinky dorm room in the pictures.

Dream Boats

I spent the weekend in one of my favorite places on earth.  New Orleans.  This was my third year to go with a group from north Mississippi to do some Bourbon Street ministry.  Don't worry.  I don't hold signs that proclaim hatred.  I don't yell through a mega-phone.  I don't condemn.  In fact, I am all against condemnation.  Read John 3:17.  Jesus didn't come into this world to condemn but to save.  I was priviledged to talk to many people.  Pray for some.  I really wanted to tell you guys about another expierence I had.  This older guy that does Bourbon Street ministry every Saturday asked if he could pray for me.  I, of course, said sure.  As he starts praying for me, he goes on to ask God to send me the godly man of my dreams.  I'm going to be honest.  My eyes popped open for that part of the prayer.  No other person had ever prayed that God would send me someone before.  I didn't know how to react.  He went on to pray for my children and grandchildren.  It was really unique..different...cool.  Everyone who knows me knows that I would like to have a life partner.  I understand that God could choose for me to be single for life.  I could die a single lady.  I would be okay.  My purpose for life is not to get married.  God didn't create me just to marry a hot man.  I was created to give Him glory.  However, I do desire to get married and have a best friend come along with me for all of life's adventures.  I would really like to have children.  It was so different to have a stranger pray for those things for me.  He didn't even know my heart.  He didn't know my desires.  I guess that is all I wanted to tell/write.  Don't worry, I'll keep you posted on when/if my dream boat comes into my life.

I'll be on the "look out".

Comments don't hurt my feelings.

Saving the Caged Bird

If I can stop one heart from breaking,

 I shall not live in vain;

If I can ease one life the aching,

 Or cool one pain,

 Or help one fainting robin

 Unto his nest again,

I shall not live in vain.

Wild Wednesdays

well, hello there...

Today, I tried so hard to post a "What I Wore Wednesday"..also known as "WIWW".  I've been wanting to capture my Wednesday attire and share it with you guys sooo bad.  I'm jump on bandwagons.  Today, after my computer was fixed, I realized that it was Wednesday.  Yay!  I have a camera near and semi-cute clothes.  Do you think I captured a cute picture?  No!  I also wanted a picture of my new Mardi Gras wreath.  So, there I am up there with my wreath.  Yes, this is seriously the best picture.  Anyway, what I wanted to talk about was the cardigan I am wearing.  This cardigan was a sweatshirt!  My grandmother helped me cut and sew the raw ends and she put an eye and hook on the top.  I love it!  I wear it much more as a cardigan than I did as a sweatshirt.  Maybe next Wednesday I can post a "WIWW".

p.s. yes, that is a valentine's day sucker in my hand.

I found this on Pinterest.  How am I using my money, education, health, talents for God?  How are you using yours?

Challenge Accepted

I have a challenge for myself this year.  I mean, who doesn't like a good challenge?  I am a proud pinner on Pinterest.  I pretty much have every holiday, my wedding, future house, and all the meals planned already.  Beat that June Cleaver!  Did I mention that I am a college student living in the dorms with no love interest in sight?  Whatevs.  So, my challenge for this year is to create anything that I have pinned for each month.  That means that I need to actually act upon my pinning twelve times!  I can handle it.  It could be a meal, craft, meal, or meal.  Here are some things that I'm looking forward to creating.

Food, crafts, gifts, clothes, hair....

This could get interesting.  Pinteresting.
I'm punny.
