I'm Feeling Saucey

I have many things to blog about to day.  First, I would like to mention that I have my summer details!  I will be spending 73 days East Fremantle, Western Australia.  I'm so excited!  Actually, six of those days will be spent in Sydney, Australia in Orientation and Debriefing.  I will be mainly working with youth and other times children.  This summer is going to be a blast and I can't wait to see how God will use me.  I will try to keep everyone updated on this blog throughout the summer.  In other news, it is freezing cold outside!  In fact, we are expected to get freezing rain all throughout the day.  I believe they should cancel school.  I mean, it is a hazard.  :) I really don't have a good jacket so hopefully I can bundle up real nice.  If you haven't noticed already, it is February! That means Valentine's Day.  I really like the day even though I am entitled to bitter about my singleness.  So, for this year I have many valentine ideas.  I went to Taco Bell the other day and  picked up some sauce packets just to read the funny sayings.  Then, my valentine idea came together in my head!  I will use the taco packets on my valentine cards.  It seems like a perfect idea.  Especially since the packets say such flirtatious messages!  See for yourself.
You see what I mean?  Wouldn't that be perfect on a Valentine's Day card?  They are like the new conversation hearts.  On a completely different note, I have come across a craft that I would really like to try.  It is a cupcake plate!  I really can't find a picture of the craft but I will explain it for you anyway and hopefully soon I can put a picture of mine on here.  What you should do first in find three different size plates.  You need a large plate, a medium size plate, and a small plate.  I believe these plates should be ceramic and decorative.  I'm thinking you should find them in a thrift store and it should look like each one has a story.  I wouldn't do matching plates either.  Anyway, after you have your plates, you should get two small coffee cups.  These also should be ceramic and decorative.  First, you get the large plate and in the center you turn one coffee cup over and use guerilla glue to secure it in place.  Then you get the medium plate and secure it on top of the overturned coffee cup.  Secure the other coffee cup in the middle of the medium plate and then secure the small plate on top of that.  This cupcake plate will be worthy of an Alice in Wonderland themed tea party.  I'm sure you can put other stuff besides cupcakes on this plate but I really like cupcakes.  Okay that is all for now!  I will blog you later!

Artsy Fartsy

I know I just finished a blog post but I really wanted to post again because I have more things to say..er...write.  Mississippi hasn't had a harsh winter at all.  I am laying on my bed in my dorm room with my window open and the cool breeze rustling my curtains.  Didn't that paint a beautiful picture for you?  It won't last for long though, because later today a storm will settle upon us and force our temperatures to hit the 40's.  That's cold to me.  Since this is an "artsy fartsy'' blog, I feel compelled to share one art related mention per blog post.  I would like to share with you guys that I have created my own etsy account! http://www.etsy.com/people/confessionsofart  Yes my domain name is confession of art.  Confessions of an art major was too long.  It does seem that I do have alot of confessions.  Hmm...I think I am a pretty open person.  I will hopefully have products to sell there soon.  What do you think I should create first?  Leave a comment to let me know.  I mean it.  It's okay to comment.  Seriously.

Google is a dictator

I would first like to make sure everyone has noticed that I have some nice musical selections for you guys down at the bottom of my blog's page.  I was hoping that the music would start on its own but no such luck.  I would also like to say that google is taking over the web.  Yes, I have now stated my conspiracy theory of the moment.  First, I couldn't access my youtube account due to the fact that you had to have a google account.  Today, I couldn't access my blog because I use yahoo!  It is an abomination!  Anyway, I will find out Tuesday where I am exactly going this summer.  Hopefully I will get my first choice but if I don't that is okay also.  I will probably maybe try to blog when I find out.  I know I don't blog alot but this is really the most I've ever kept up with something of this sort.  Also, please ignore all my gramatical errors.  It hurts my head to think about it.  In art related news, I am learning how to crochet.  It should be an adventure.  I will let you guys know when I actually create something.  I should be contacting you in five years if I'm really lucky!  One more thing about Australia this summer.  I am selling shirts for $15 to help fund my way there.  I am only taking orders till March 31st.  I would apperciate your contribution.  Please and thank you.

To the Land of Oz and Beyond

Just because enquiring minds want to know; I am going to Australia this summer.  No, not just a trip to Australia but I will be living in Australia for almost three months.  I going to Australia for summer missions.  I am so excited!  I know this has little to nothing to do with art but I thought it was worth the mention.  Maybe I'll get some art inspiration while I am there and be able to share it with you.  Most of all though, I will be sharing the love and desire of our God there to children and youth.  On a completely different note, I am finally finished with my fall semester at MC!  I am finally done with Acrylic Paint!  No more boring pointless stories and jokes and lectures!  I will have a harder and less eventful (maybe) next semester.  I will be taking mostly core classes.  I was told that I was behind in my core classes and way too ahead in my art classes.  I did that on purpose.  I mean like I'm ever really going to need to know the square root of pi as an art teacher.  Come on!  So anyway, I am home in my hometown just relaxing and ready for CHRISTMAS!  I feel that I get more excited (atleast this year) about Christmas as I get older.  While I am here though, I have run into a little conflict we call relationships.  No, not little petty bf/gf relationships (do I sound bitter?), but rather old friendships that have kind of taken a... oh how should I put it?....crash and burn.  If you didn't know me in highschool (hallelujah), I was sort of a door mat.  I have people in my life that I just kind of let run all over me.  About year and half ago though, I decided that I had out grown that and I have better things and better relationships in my life so I cut the cord with the damaging relationships.  Now, as I am clearly home for Christmas and around my hometown friends, things get complicated.  Especially when you have mutual friends.  Oh dear, this is just a bunch of venting that is unnecessary and unrelated to this blog.  I do like the occasional vent though.  That's about all I have for this posting.  Stay tuned please.
